The Hookup: Black on Both Sides
My last blog was a good outlet for piracy. I love forcing music upon people so I am doing it now. This is one of the best hip hop albums you will ever hear. I give you Mos Def’s Black on Both Sides.
EDIT: Shawn is giving me shit because, despite the fact that we both agree this is an excellent record, it is not current and I should be posting current things. Boo.
SHAWN EDIT: Shawn merely pointed out that such a dated album would serve better in a list for any readers looking for good hip-hop. Shawn would also point out that Patrick neglected to mention that Mos Def has since gone crap when it comes to records and hasn’t released decent CD post Black on Both Sides.
PATRICK EDIT (WAY LATER): This isn’t 100% true but somewhat accurate. Mos’s next record after this one, The New Danger, was kinda cool but spotty. Definitely wasn’t crap though; just nowhere near on par with BoBS
