Miss California should be dating Chris Brown.

So here’s a little nugget of intolerance courtesy of the Miss USA pageant. Here’s what Miss California had to say about same-sex – sorry, I mean “opposite” marriage:

For fuck’s sake. It’s 2009, Miss California. “Not to offend anyone,” my ass. You offended me and quite visibly Perez Hilton (which is probably about the only time in my life I’ll ever feel any empathy for that guy, but that’s another blog post) and, I can’t speak for them but I’m willing to bet, the entire gay community. Can we talk about the “I was raised to believe marriage is between a man and a woman” horse shit?  “I was raised to believe” is just code for “I’m a fully formed adult who still cannot formulate my own moral stance on what should be a pretty obvious issue so I stick with the one my intolerant parents forced onto me.” Congratulations; you’re a fucking idiot. The sooner we start bringing our kids up to be decent, tolerant individuals, the sooner we can do away with this bullshit, spineless excuse. If anything, my kids will be “raised to believe” in being compassionate human beings. Any two consenting adults that want to get married should have the right to do so and it’s no one’s business but the two of them. If two dudes want to get married, that’s between them. If I want to get married to…well, any girl who would be dumb enough to go for that, that’s our business.

Jesus. Someone set this chick up with Chris Brown.

Brilliant title!.. just fucking brilliant! haha

ahem.. so yeah I too am proud that in America we can chose to be in a gay or straight marriage (in 4 states) but think that it should be limited to just those four b/c this whole gay thing is getting out of hand….and being from a small town raised to have strict moral beliefs ….
does this sound familiar? ::cough:: Palin ::cough:: I love when “influential” (sarcasm) women, who have forgotten the repression they suffered such a short time ago, say that its a choice to be gay and that its an essentially wrong one, that deems them unworthy of equal rights. Really I feel bad for those who find them valuable in anyway.

hahaha no, i think its obvious that this lady is a total cunt nugget with some serious synapse misfires. (which at first glance,is what I thought you were calling her in the first sentence.)

Miss California… news flash: we expected more from you.. like the desire to be famous at the cost of whatever ill informed values you may think you have.
No one (aside from impressionable little girls and gay men) cares about your values….your day planner includes your TANNING REGIMEN for fucks sake.

So In the infamous words of Mr. Bale “GOOOD FOR YOOOU!!”

My personal belief/mini rant on the matter:
Homosexuality isn’t a choice, its not a preference, its an orientation and doesn’t signify immorality.Maybe its all those genetics classes i took but I also don’t think its genetic. In the same way I don’t think there is a gene that makes you like vanilla over chocolate. And philisophically if we say its genetic but ocurs only in 15% of the population are we not saying its some kind of affliction/abnormality?
No, I don’t believe we chose who we are attracted to sexually, we only chose how we react to that attraction..::wink:: isnt that right mr. Haggard? http://www.notmytribe.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/ted-haggard.jpg
Whats immoral is suggesting that one should chose to suppress a small facet of their lives in an effort to make you feel more comfortable. Sex is something that makes people uncomfortable to speak about. that’s a given, but as long at two guys don’t touch dicks at your breakfast table shut the fuck up about it!

I like the fact that legal marriage is determined by state, I don’t want it to become a federal law. It gives me an excuse to stay the fuck out of Alabama and Utah. I also believe that within the next 10 years the number of states who accept gay marriage will greatly increase and that its a really REALLY good thing. I have been advocating gay rights in my personal life and classroom discussions since i was 12 but aside from CA(prop 8 ref) love the way that the US is going about it.
However, it should be noted that I’m a bit biased on the grounds that I don’t believe in marriage in the first place.

The way I see it, marriage is a dying institution anyways. Divorce rates are above 50%. That means literally HALF of all marriages are doomed to fail. Fuck’s sake – if there’s ANYONE left that still wants to try it, who should stop them?
